Dr. DiResta is a cum laude graduate of Boston College, received his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, and he completed his residency training in podiatric surgery at Northlake Hospital in Illinois. Dr. DiResta received a Masters Degree in Public Health from Dartmouth Medical School. He is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and a retired Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Dr. DiResta founded the practice back in 1979 and in 2023 retired from clinical practice. He remains active in public health activities and research presently serving as chair of the Community Service Foundation of the Massachusetts Foot and Ankle Society and as alumni admissions volunteer for The Dartmouth Institute at Dartmouth College. He is past chair of the Foot and Ankle section of the American Public Health Association and served on the Public Health and Preventative Medicine Committee of the American Podiatric Medical Association.

A long standing member of the Medical Staff and Surgical Service of the Anna Jaques Hospital he had served on the medical staff bylaws committee as well as the pharmacy and therapeutics committee. He also served for several years on the Board of Directors of the Whittier IPA and as a board member of the LMV Physician Hospital Organization affiliated with BILH. His research work involves quality improvement projects, patient education, and screenings as well as initiatives to change provider practice behavior. He is a mentor for the APMA sponsored Post Doc Podiatric Public Health Fellowship at The Dartmouth Institute of the Geisel School of Medicine. He is the recipient of the APHA John and Janet Carson Award for Public Health Advocacy in 2012 and the APHA Stephen Toth Award presented to him in 2016.

Dr. DiResta resides in Newbury, MA and is married to Susan and together they are parents of six wonderful children. He remains active with his daily walks, loves to hike and enjoys most forms of music, he is an avid guitarist.
